2 Filipinos dead in Kuwait fire after inhaling toxic gas — DMW
Two Filipinos died after inhaling harmful gases during a fire in Al Adan, Kuwait last December 2, the Department of Migrant Workers said on Friday.
“According to the report, the workers’ cause of death was attributed to the inhalation of non-breathable, toxic gases from the fire,” the DMW said in a statement.
The agency said that the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Kuwait is already working on the repatriation of the remains of the victims.
“The MWO is also facilitating the processing of documents for the repatriation of human remains to the Philippines.”
The DMW added that its regional office in Western Visayas has already visited the families of the victims in Capiz and provided them with financial assistance.
“The Department of Migrant Workers extends its heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and assures them of its full support,” the agency said. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BAP, GMA Integrated News
