Bail denied for suspect in fatal car chase that killed Filipina in LA
LOS ANGELES, California — A court here has denied bail for the car theft suspect who accidentally killed a Filipina in San Fernando Valley while fleeing from pursuing police officers.
The suspect, identified by the Los Angeles Police Department as 42-year-old Kevin Joseph Larrea, has been charged with murder.
Larrea's car hit 46-year-old Filipina Cristina David during the police chase, which also left three others injured.
The Filipino victim was on her way home from the salon and was only minutes away from her house when the tragedy occurred.
David's family was devastated after learning about the tragic accident. She leaves behind her husband and two children.
The family was planning to take a vacation this Thanksgiving weekend when the tragedy happened.
David, a commercial mortgage professional, was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt trauma, according to the medical examiner's report.
