Filipina killed in California after stolen SUV crashes into her car
A Filipina was killed after being struck by a stolen SUV in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California over the weekend.
The suspect, a 40-year-old driving a stolen Mercedes SUV, was fleeing from the police when it crashed into a white Tesla driven by the victim, identified by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner as 46-year-old Christina David.
The impact was so severe that the Tesla's roof was torn off. The collision also caused the victim's car to hit two other vehicles, resulting in injuries to their drivers and passengers.
David was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt trauma, according to the medical examiner's report.
Police officers pursuing the suspect immediately arrested him. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, sustained only minor injuries.
He will face charges of vehicular homicide.
The Filipina victim, a commercial mortgage professional, leaves behind her husband and two children.
