2 Filipino nursing assistants in New Jersey charged over alleged patient assault
Two Filipino nursing assistants are behind bars for allegedly assaulting a patient at a rehabilitation center in New Jersey.
Dhenmark Francisco, 28, and Jovi Esperanza, 31, have been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly attacking a 52-year-old patient at a rehabilitation facility in Berkeley Township, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
The facility’s manager personally contacted the Berkeley Police Department to report the assault that left the unnamed patient in critical condition at Community Medical Center.
Francisco and Esperanza are under the custody Ocean County Jail pending a court detention hearing to determine if bail will be granted.
A report on Fox29 said authorities took Francisco into custody a day after the incident while Esperanza turned himself in to authorities.
Police investigators have not released the motive behind the attack, but the victim is now in stable condition. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
