Filipino fans gather for Side A band’s final U.S. tour stop in NYC

NEW YORK CITY - Filipino fans flocked to the final leg of Side A band’s U.S. concert tour, "Now and Then," held at the Palladium in Times Square, New York City.

Former band members, spanning from the 1980s to the new generation of Side A, came together for this rare event.

However, the band’s former vocalist, Joey Generoso, who left the group in 2015, did not join the Now and Then tour. Instead, he performed with musician Noel Cabangon in a separate concert in California.

During the California event, an issue arose when Joey G announced that he could no longer perform songs from his former band, including one of their hits, “Forevermore”, which left fans disappointed.

Joey G explained that he had been ordered to cease and desist from singing Side A band songs.

Joey Benin, the songwriter, composer, and original member of Side A, clarified that the restriction on Joey G singing songs he wrote for Side A was a personal decision and has no connection to the band. He stated that this decision was made for the band's benefit.

Joey B is expected to release an official statement after the U.S. tour concludes.

Meanwhile, fans cheered and danced as the band performed their hit songs from the 1980s, led by the band’s first vocalist, Rodel Gonzalez. Also present at the Now and Then concert were Naldy Gonzalez, Pido Lalimarmo, and Ernie Severino.
