Quiboloy's co-accused in US visa fraud case agree to plead guilty

NEW YORK - Two co-defendants of Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, namely Amanda Estopare and Guia Cabactulan, in a visa fraud case in the US entered into plea agreements with the United States Attorney's Office in California.

At the Attorney's Office, Estopare and Cabactulan admitted to their involvement in the KOJC visa fraud operation.

According to court documents, beginning 2015 to on or about January 29, 2020, the defendants and others had an agreement to commit marriage fraud. They arranged for KOJC members, who were sent by Quiboloy to the US, to enter into sham marriages with other KOJC members who were US citizens to enable them to apply for permanent resident status.

Under the 17-page plea agreement, Cabactulan and Estopare, both KOJC officials in America, could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The court is scheduled to discuss the plea agreement next week, where a date for sentencing may be set for them.

Maria De Leon, who arranged fake documents for KOJC members to obtain legal status in America, entered into a plea agreement last year.

This was followed by Marissa Duenas' plea agreement last week. Duenas was a human resources manager for the KOJC in Van Nuys, California.

Sentencing for De Leon is scheduled for January of next year. —KG, GMA Integrated News
