DMW to help in claiming remains of Pinay killed in UAE

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Saturday that the government will extend all available assistance to the family, especially the husband, of a Filipino nurse who died apparently due to a car accident in Abu Dhabi.

At a news forum in Quezon City, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said the representatives from the DMW and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) “will be flying to Abu Dhabi para masaksihan mismo yung imbestigasyon ng UAE authorities.”

Cacdac said government personnel will accompany the husband of the Filipino nurse, Reyna Jane Ancheta, who died in a car accident, in claiming the remains of his wife.

“[Upang] masiguro natin ang pagpapauwi ng kanyang asawa… kasabay na niya siguro umuwi ang kanyang asawa,” Cacdac said.

The DMW chief said government officials along with Reyna Jane’s husband, Kennet Paul Ancheta, will fly to Abu Dhabi “sa lalong madaling panahon” or as soon as the latter’s visa requirements and travel documentation are completed.

“Rest assured we are in touch with the family,” Cacdac said.

Kennet Paul has expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding the death of his wife, Reynaldo Jane, saying that he wasn’t able to contact the Filipino nurse for three days before her body was found.

He is also curious as to why his wife’s phone and Emirates ID were not found at the scene.

Cacdac, however, said that “it’s hard to preempt results of investigation… again, antayin natin ang resulta ng imbestigasyon.”

(Let's wait for the result of the investigation.)
