74-year-old Pinay dies after homeless man pushes her at San Francisco train station

NEW YORK - A 74-year-old Filipina died in California after being pushed by a homeless person while waiting for a train at the BART Powell Station in San Francisco.

The victim, Corazon Dandan, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital but later died due to a head injury she sustained.

According to BART Police, the suspect pushed the victim as the train was approaching, causing the victim's head to hit the moving train before she fell onto the platform.

Dandan was a telephone operator at the Parc 55 Hotel in Union Square and was on her way home to Daly City when the attack occurred at around eleven in the evening last Monday.

Although retired, the victim chose to continue working.

Dandan's family has declined to give a statement while they are still processing the tragedy that befell Corazon.

The family also requested privacy as they mourn.

The suspect, identified as Trevor Belmont, alias Hoak Taing, was immediately arrested and will be charged with murder and elder abuse.
