Remote renewal of driver's license for OFWs in the offing —DMW

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) may soon be able to renew their driver's licenses online following the launching of an initiative between the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Land Transportation Office (LTO).

In a statement, the DMW said the initiative "is a partnership program between the two agencies that aims to streamline the renewal process of driver’s licenses for Filipinos abroad via online and digital platforms."

The initiative, dubbed "Pinabilis sa Bagong Bayani ang Magkalisensya" or PBBM, was launched on June 7, 2024 as part of the celebration of the National Migrant Workers Day.
 
"The PBBM Project is a testament to the DMW’s and LTO’s commitment to making the lives of Filipinos living or working abroad easier," DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said.

"It provides a convenient means for them to renew their driver's licenses without physically appearing at an LTO office, relieving them of the burden of additional travel and time." —KBK, GMA Integrated News
