Philippine culture showcased during Canada's Victoria Day
The Filipino community in Canada showcased Philippine culture as part of the celebration of Victoria Day, Unang Balita reported on Wednesday.
Garbed in colorful dresses, members of the community held a Santacruzan-like parade. The iconic Filipino jeepney was also part of the parade.
The Filipinos also showcased various Philippine festivals like Panagbenga in Baguio City, Kadayawan in Davao City, and Sinulog in Cebu.
Victoria Day is a federal Canadian public holiday celebrated every May to offer Canadians a chance to commemorate the birth of Queen Victoria, who reigned as the British monarch for 63 years.
Meanwhile, various Filipino dishes and delicacies were also featured in Taste Asia Food and Cultural Festival in Halifax Waterfront, also in Canada.
