PH names new honorary consul for Florida
NEW YORK - Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez on Thursday administered the oath of office for new Philippine Honorary Consul Sharol Noblejas who will be serving the Filipino community in Florida.
The Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. said Noblejas' consular post will be in Jacksonville, Florida, and the area of jurisdiction covers the State of Florida.
With a distinguished career spanning various sectors including healthcare, IT project management, and community service, Noblejas brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role, the embassy said.
Her professional journey, characterized by leadership and excellence, has prepared her to serve as a bridge between the Filipino community in Florida and the Philippine government, it added.
Noblejas has been actively engaged in community service. She was president of Jax Filipinos and board member of various community organizations. Currently, Noblejas serves as board member and past chair for the City of Jacksonville Mayor’s Asian American Advisory Board.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Orlando College and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Record Administration degree from the University of Central Florida. She is also a registered health information administrator, the embassy added.
In her capacity as Philippine Honorary Consul in Florida, Noblejas has pledged to prioritize the needs of the Filipino community and further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Philippines and the US.
Romualdez expressed confidence in Noblejas' leadership, integrity, and passion for public service.
“Florida is home to the largest Filipino community under the Embassy’s consular jurisdiction. We need someone like Ms. Noblejas, who is genuinely committed to serving the Filipino community and further strengthening the bonds of friendship between the Philippines and the United States.
