DMW to process 'thousands' of deployment offers in Germany, Czech Republic
Thousands of skilled workers may look forward to job openings in Germany and the Czech Republic in the near future.
According to a 24 Oras report by JP Soriano on Wednesday, agreements for legitimate and proper deployment of workers are now being processed by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s working visit to Germany.
“Kailangan nila [ng manggagawa] sa manufacturing [at] kailangan nila [ng manggagawa] sa mga engineering works, construction,” said DMW Undersecretary for Policy and International Cooperation Patricia Caunan.
(They need [workers] in manufacturing [and] they need [workers] in engineering works, construction.)
The DMW added that they are set to discuss with labor officials in the Czech Republic during the President’s visit to said country.
“They are alloting ten thousand working visas for Filipinos for this year across industries. Paano natin itong gagawin tong ten thousand? Ano ba tong workers na ito and ano yung mga recruitment modalities na gagawin natin at tsaka siguro istress natin yung fight against illegal recruitment,” Caunan added.

According to the DMW, they are targeting to form government-to-government agreements with both Germany and Czech Republic.
While no job orders have been offered for said countries yet, the DMW advises aspiring candidates to brush up on different skills and acquire certifications from TESDA.
They also advised the public not to fall for recruitment scams on social media and only apply through the DMW website. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
