OWWA welcomes returning OFWs with Filipino Christmas at NAIA

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) on Monday started greeting returning overseas Filipino workers with their first taste of Paskong Pinoy at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

According to a Balitanghali report by Maki Pulido on Tuesday, the OWWA project focused on flights carrying OFWs, usually from the Middle East.

OWWA Director Arnel Ignacio explained that the effort was designed to welcome the OFWs with the spirit of a Filipino Christmas after years of hard work overseas.

Upon exiting the jet bridge, OFWs were greeted with a choir and gift packs from the DMW and private companies.

OFWs were directed to a holding area to participate in a raffle with cash prizes ranging from P10,000 to P50,000. Some distressed repatriates were given P10,000 prizes directly. — Jiselle Casucian/DVM, GMA Integrated News
