Ilongga caregiver is fourth Pinoy to die in Israel-Hamas war
A caregiver from Iloilo was confirmed to be the fourth Filipino casualty in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, according to a report on “24 Oras” on Thursday.
Identified as Grace Prodigo Cabrera, the bereaved family said the victim’s death was confirmed by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Philippine Embassy in Israel.
Authorities were able to identify Cabrera through her fingerprints, but the family said they had not yet been informed of the cause of death or how she was found.
The OFW was among the three Filipino nationals reported missing since the October 7 surprise attack by Hamas militants against Israel.
She was also among the 199 individuals the militant group kidnapped, along with the three relatives of her Israeli employer.
Other Filipinos who died in the conflict were Loreta Alacre, 49; Angeline Aguirre, a nurse; and Paul Vincent Castelvi, a 42-year-old caregiver. —Sundy Locus/VBL, GMA Integrated News
