15,000 job vacancies abroad offered by DMW

The Department of Migrant Workers on Monday, Labor Day, held a job fair in which 30 recruitment agencies offered 15,000 overseas job orders.

Aside from private recruitment, the DMW job fair also had a government-to-government recruitment of 1,500 nurses for Saudi Arabia.

"We are allowing walk-ins to make it easy for the nurses to apply in our office," said Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Assistant Health Attache Nasser Amri in Dano Tingcungco and Sandra Aguinaldo's 24 Oras report.

"It's government-to-government, which makes it easy for people to apply with us. There are no fees to pay," added Amri.

The Saudi Arabia-bound nurse would receive a salary of SR4,110 or P60,000. Among the benefits is a paid annual vacation with a free roundtrip economy ticket, and accommodations and transportation would also be provided.

One of the advantages of the DMW job fair was the guarantee of a registered job order. Applicants who can submit the requirements could thus be sure about landing a job.

"Kalimitan sa mga recruitment agencies... ay kumukuha lamang ng tinatawag na manpower pooling. Wala silang registered job orders," said DMW Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary Bernard Olalia.
