Marcos admin discusses priority projects for OFWS, job opportunities in Cabinet meeting
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Tuesday presided over the Cabinet meeting to tackle priority programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) as well as the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
According to the Office of the President, the DMW's priority projects include the One Repatriation Command Center, OFW Mobile Application, and the National Reintegration Program.
In his fist State of the Nation Address, Marcos directed the DMW and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to prioritize the automation of contracts of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Marcos said he wants OFWs to have Overseas Employment Certifications (OECs) in their mobile phones and that he aims to further protect the welfare of Filipinos working abroad by cutting bureaucratic red tape.
The DOLE, for its part, would prioritize increasing job opportunities, ensuring just and humane working conditions in the workplace, and delivering accessible, prompt, and continuous services to the public. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
