Husband of missing Fil-Am woman arrested for murder

Authorities arrested on Wednesday the husband tagged as the prime suspect in the killing of his Filipino-American wife, who had been missing for more than nine months.

Larry Millete was arrested in their home in East Chula Vista, San Diego, California, according to the Chula Vista Police Chief Roxana Kennedy.

Kennedy said Millete's wife, May “Maya” Millete, has been missing since January 9. She was last seen by her family members at her residence in East Chula Vista.

As of date, the investigation has included 67 search warrants and 87 interviews, including review and investigation of over 130 tips and thousands of hours of investigation efforts, according to Kennedy.

“These efforts ultimately generated for variety pieces of evidence that we come clear and overwhelming that Larry Millete, May’s husband, is responsible for May’s murder and disappearance,” Kennedy said in a press conference.

“The primary goal was to bring May home to her family or bring justice to the persons responsible for her disappearance,” she added.

Meanwhile, Kennedy said the three children of May are under safe custody.

Maricris Drouaillet, May's sister, appealed for the public's assistance to help locate the body of their missing sister.

“This is still not the end. We have a long way to go. We are still asking the public to please help us bring my sister home. I still want to see my sister. I still want her to come home to us,” Drouaillet said.

May was first reported missing after she failed to show up at a consultation with a divorce lawyer, according to Saleema Refran’s “24 Oras” report on Wednesday.

Investigators said that Larry killed May on the night of January 7 and dumped her body at a still undetermined location.

The couple's neighbor had also heard a gunshot that night and the sound was also recorded on the CCTV footage of the nearby house.

Several types of firearms were also recovered from the couple’s house.

Meanwhile, Larry has also denied the accusations.

The Chula Vista Police Department said it will continue to investigate and locate May's missing body.

According to Conan Daily, May was originally from the Philippines and is the daughter of Pablito Tabalanza and Noemi Tabalanza.
