Germany in urgent need of 750 Pinoy nurses —DOLE
Germany urgently needs 750 Filipino registered nurses, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has announced.
In a letter, the DOLE said the International Placement Service of the German Federal Employment Agency is looking for qualified applicants for the following positions:
- Intensive Care Unit
- Geriatric Care/Nursing Home/Elderly Care
- General Ward
- Medical and Surgery Ward
- Operating Room
- Neurology, Orthopedics and related fields
- Psychiatry
- Pediatrics and Neonatal Ward.
DOLE pointed out that nursing homes in Germany are inpatient facilities, where geriatric nurses deal with older people in need of help with different health conditions.
Qualifications are the following:
- Filipino citizen and permanent resident of the Philippines
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Active Philippine Nursing License
- At least one (1) year related professional experience (bedside) in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and/or care institutions.
- Applicants must have German language proficiency or willing to undergo German language training in the Philippines to attain Level B1 (to be paid by the employer)
- Must be able to attend the language class in November 2021-January 2022; or with B1 or B2 Language Proficiency Level in accordance with Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
The DOLE said successful candidates will have a starting monthly salary of €2,300 or P135,700. This will be increased to €2,800 or P165,200 after recognition as a qualified nurse.
The translation of recognition documents and certification will also be paid by the employer, including the medical checks.
Other benefits include a bonus payment of €250 for passing the A2 and B1 in first take; visa and airfare from the Philippines to Germany shouldered by the employer; and that the employer will assist the employee in finding a suitable accommodation.

Documentary Requirements are the following:
- Cover letter and curriculum vitae with colored passport size picture
- Nursing Diploma (notarized copy)
- Board Certificate and copy of license from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
- Certificates of employment in related field (previous and current) (notarized copy)
- Attendance and/or level certificate for German language, if available
- Copy of valid passport
Deadline of submission for applicants from the POEA regional offices will be on August 27, 2021, while applicants from the central office (POEA - Ortigas) will be on August 31, 2021.—AOL, GMA News
