31 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19; recoveries at 5,410


Thirty-one more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 9,239, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 5,410 after 23 more Filipinos abroad recovered from the illness while six more fatalities brought the total death toll to 653.

At present, there are 3,176 patients still undergoing treatment.

Based on data from the DFA, there are a total of 812 confirmed cases in the Asia and the Pacific region with 177 patients undergoing treatment, 629 recoveries, and six fatalities.

The Middle East or Africa has reported a total of 6,632 cases. Of this 2,379 are undergoing treatment, 3872 have recovered, and 381 have succumbed to the illness.

In the Americas, there were a total of 705 COVID-19 cases with 124 patients undergoing treatment, 410 recoveries, and 171 fatalities.

Meanwhile, no new cases were reported in Europe with the total remaining at 1,090, patients undergoing treatment at 496, recoveries at 499, and fatalities at 95. -MDM, GMA News
