Germany offers high-paying jobs to nurses

More than 500 Filipino nurses are projected to get work in Germany, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

As reported by Jun Veneracion on 24 Oras Monday, POEA deputy administrator Villamor Ventura Plan said the salary of nurses in Germany reaches up to 2,000 euros or about 113,000 pesos.

He added the overtime pay is not yet included in the basic pay.

If the applicants pass the exam for nurses in Germany, the salary will increase up to 135,000 pesos.

Up to 800 Filipino nurses have been sent to Germany since 2013, which is the reason why Rosslyn Manaois and Hazel Bonbon want to fly to the European country. They used to work as nurses in Saudi Arabia.

For Manaois, one of the reasons why she is interested in the offer is due to the possibility of permanent residency.

"Doon puwede ka mag-settle unlike sa pinanggalingan namin, hindi puwede and gusto ko rin kunin ang parents ko later on," Manaois said.
