Philippine Embassy in London warns vs. fake 'embassy' FB page, website
The Philippine Embassy in London recently warned Filipinos about a fake Facebook page and website representing itself as the embassy and offering jobs.
"The Philippine Embassy warns the public against an entity calling itself Philippine Embassy in London – Great Britain Travel Agency," the embassy said in an advisory issued on Wednesday.
The fake entity is said to be using the following Facebook page and website, the embassy said:
- Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/PhilippineEmbassyLondon
- Website: https://londonphilembassy.wixsite.com/travelagency
"The said entity is misrepresenting the Philippine Embassy and is illegally trafficking people into the UK. The public is therefore warned against dealing with these unscrupulous individuals," the advisory read.
The said Facebook page showed posts about jobs for housemaids and nannies in London.
The website on the other hand offers travel booking and shows the photos of President Rodrigo Duterte, Philippine Ambassador to the UK Antonio Lagdameo and Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr.
The embassy warned it will use the full extent of the law to go after those misrepresenting any Philippine government agency or official.
