Kuwait authorities file charges vs. employer over death of OFW Dayag
Kuwait authorities have filed charges against a suspect in the killing of Filipina domestic worker Constancia Dayag, Bernadette Reyes reported Saturday on GMA News TV Live.
Citing information from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the report said the Kuwaiti General Prosecutor's Office charged the OFW's Kuwaiti employer identified as Bader Ibrahim Mohammad Hussain with felony murder.
As Dayag's loved ones paid their last respects at her wake in her hometown of Angadanan, Isabela, the DFA broke the news about the filing of charges against Hussain.
Last May 23, the remains of the 47-year-old mother arrived from Kuwait.
Earlier, the Department of Labor and Employment revealed that Dayag died after suffering hemotoma and concussions.
Reports indicated that she was also sexually abused. An investigation into the cause of death is being conducted and Dayag's employer Hussain is considered a suspect.
Philippine authorities are still awaiting results of the autopsy conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation. —Margaret Claire Layug/LBG, GMA News
