Pinoy pilot flies high in Phoenix

Hello, I work here in Arizona as a helicopter pilot for air rescue. I invite your team here in AZ to fly with me and observe what I'm doing, and maybe help other Pinoys to use their talent to pursue their career. Actually, I'm one of the pilots of the new program here in Glendale AZ, one of the fastest growing cities in the US. I was chosen to be a part this team. We have 578 pilots and I'm proud to be the only Filipino here. As part of the job, I'm also an Instructor Pilot for Helicopter, Instrument Instructor Helicopter Pilot. I had a complicated military career in the Philippine Air Force way back in 1990. I would say that I don't know any padrino and not one in the family is a member of high ranking officers in AFP, so I decided to leave Air Force and moved here in the US to pursue my dreams. While I dn't have any close relative here in the US to support me, I work three jobs at the same time to pursue my dreams and to be a pilot since I have aviation background in the Philippines. I attended college and while working as a security guard in the morning and guard at night in a different company, and the last one is, I have a part-time job of cutting the grass....hahahahaha. I told myself I wish Air Force gave me an opportunity back in the Philippines. But you know, what I'm here in the US and I will do it right! I have strong determination to pursue my goal... even thou family in the Philippines need money, but I don't have money that time. I could barely survive myself. Back in 1998 President Clinton gave all migrants an opportunity to be immigrants. I applied and after a few months, for some reason they approve it. I decided to join the US army reserve while finishing my civilian helicopter pilot training The US Army helped me a lot in pursuing my goal. Right now, I'm flying one of the complicated helicopters in the world...the 'BlackHawk,'' as a reserve. Back to my civilian job, I’m an instructor and currently flying Emergency Medical Service (EMS) in one big city here in Phoenix AZ, and proud to be a Pinoy. Right now, my assignment is with the Glendale AZ Fire Department as Helicopter Pilot. The name of the program is H.A.L.O., which stands for Helicopter Air Ambulance and Logistical Operations. Every now and then I meet some Filipinos here. I tell them to go back to school and pursue their dreams. Thanks to Gmanews.tv. You make my family in Laguna proud! Alam mo naman "promdi" ako! It may be a good idea to show to the Philippine government what kind of medical or emergency treatment the American people have in case of emergency. Unlike in the Philippines, kumbaga eh incase of emergency the survival percentage is only near 20% due to lack of equipment and training. That’s one reason why I'm trying to share the type of job I'm doing here. I don't know what's going on about EMS system (Emergency medical service) we have in the Philippines....I wish I can help... because since I started this kind of job I appreciated how important life is. But any way, I don't know if you are the right person to share my thoughts with, but again I really appreciate all the help...! Thanks, Captain Ronan Diaz Villanueva
