INTERACTIVE TIMELINE: DFA, Migrante on Mary Jane Veloso’s journey to death row
By TRISHA MACAS, GMA News
Amid debate on which groups helped Mary Jane Veloso — the overseas Filipino worker who was spared from execution in Indonesia last April 29 — the Department of Foreign Affairs and OFW group Migrante International released their versions of the events that led to a nation's sigh of relief.
The DFA started its timeline on the day Veloso left for Malaysia.
Migrante International based its timeline on the sworn affidavits of Veloso's family, a timeline given by the DFA to the Velosos, the personal knowledge of Migrante and the National Union of People’s Lawyers of actions taken for the #SaveMaryJane campaign, and media statements by the DFA and the Palace.
Entries in blue with the DFA logo were taken from the department's timeline. Those in red with Migrante International's logo were from the group's account of events.
