US Embassy: Technical problems may delay visa processing
Citing technical problems, the United States Embassy in Manila on Sunday advised visa applicants of possible delays in the processing of their cases.
In a notice, the US Embassy said the issue is worldwide and affects the Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs' passport and visa system.
"The US Embassy in Manila is monitoring this situation, and we apologize to applicants who may experience delays" it said.
It said the issue is "not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category."
For now, it said, the Bureau of Consular Affairs is "working urgently to correct the problem and expects the system to be fully operational again soon."
