Remains of Qatar mall fire victim back in PHL

The remains of one of three Filipino fatalities in a fire that hit a Qatar mall last week arrived home Tuesday night.

 

Maribel Orozco's remains arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10 p.m. Tuesday aboard a Qatar Airways flight, radio dzBB's Paulo Santos reported.

 

Accompanying the remains were her husband Louie, brother Michael, and eight-month-old child Ian.

 

Michael Orozco had suffered smoke inhalation but survived the fire that hit the mall last May 28.

 

The report said Maribel was the youngest child in her family and the only girl in the brood.

 

Meanwhile, the report said her family plans to bring the remains to Ilocos Norte, then to Abra by Wednesday noon or Thursday. — RSJ, GMA News
