Ilocano meat dishes, ihahain sa 'Pinas Sarap'

Sa Part 1 ng ating Ilocos foodtrip, lalantakan natin ang kanilang ipinagmamalaking meat dishes. At kung pagkaing tatak Ilocano ang pag-uusapan, ano pa ba ang unang papasok sa isipan? Bagnet! Sa lutong ng balat at linamnam ng laman nito, kahit sino siguradong gaganahan kumain. Sa bayan ng Narvacan, susubukan ni Kara David gumawa at magluto ng Bagnet. Titikman din natin ang ibat ibang putaheng luto sa bagnet.
Dahil sa pagiging malikhain at masinop ng mga Ilokano, ang mga parte ng baboy at baka na karaniwang patapon na, iniluluto at napasasarap pa nila. Gaya na lamang ng isa pang crispy goodness ng Ilocos, ang Bagbagis! Gawa naman ito sa bituka ng baboy na pinirito hanggang sa lumutong. At kung masarsang ulam naman ang trip niyo, meron silang lutong pambato, ang igado! Gawa naman ito sa atay, lapay at iba pang laman loob ng baboy. Karaniwang inihahanda sa mga okasyon gaya ng kasal at fiesta.
Para naman sa matatapang at adventurous pagdating sa pagkain, subukan ang Ilocano dish na pwedeng ulam o pulutan, ang dinakdakan. Nahahawig ito sa sisig pero ang kaibahan, may halo itong utak ng baboy. Mapapalaban din ang inyong tastebuds sa mapapait nilang dish, ang imbaliktad at sinanglaw.

On the first part of the Ilocos foodtrip, we will relish the meat dishes that they are most proud of. When we talk about Ilocano foods, one of the most popular food in the province is Bagnet. The crispiness of the skin and tasteful meat of bagnet, people will want for more. In the town of Narvacan, Kara will try to cook Bagnet. We will also show different dishes cooked with bagnet.
Because Ilokanos is creative and organized, there are parts of a pig that are usually being thrown away but they can still prepare and cook deliciously, like Bagbagis. This is the fried intestines of the pig. They also have a meat dish version with sauce, it is called igado, which is made of liver, spleen and other insides of a pork. These dishes are usually served during special occasions such as weddings and fiesta.
For the strong and adventurous when it comes to food, you can try an Ilokano dish called dinakdakan. This is similar to sisig, only with added brain of a pig. Your taste buds will also be challenged by their sour dishes called imbaliktad and sinanglaw.
