BBC’S HUMAN PLANET
“Grasslands: Roots of Power”
ON GMA NEWS TV, SEPTEMBER 15, SUNDAY, 10:15PM
Grasslands feed the world. Over thousands of years, we humans have learned to grow grains on the grasslands and domesticate the creatures that live there. Our success has propelled our population to almost seven billion people.
On GMA News TV this Sunday, BBC’s Human Planet reveals that, even today, life in the 'Garden of Eden' isn't always rosy.
To get a meal, the Dorobo people of Kenya bravely attempts to scare off a pride of hungry lions from their freshly caught kill. Extraordinary Mongolian horsemen, who were 'born in the saddle', gallop across the biggest grassland on Earth, following herds of wild horses in their endless search for fresh pastures.
And in a perfect partnership with nature built up over generations, Maasai children must literally talk to the birds! The honeyguide leads them to find sweet treats, but they'll have to repay the favor.
Human Planet “Grasslands – Roots of Power” airs this Sunday, September 15 at 10:15PM on GMA News TV. This Philippine free TV airing is narrated in Filipino by award-winning broadcast journalist Kara David.
