Solenn Heussaff's bikini tips and tricks

Summer is here, girls! It’s time to flaunt your beach-ready bodies and sexy bikinis. But before you head to the beach with your fabulous swimwear in tow, “Fashbook” host Solenn Heussaff says there are a few things you should remember.

Be hair free.

Make sure that your legs, armpits, and bikini area is free of hair before you don your swimsuit. Visit a waxing salon or do it yourself at home. Just make sure that you do this a day before you plan to swim, so that any redness or irritation has time to subside before you wear your bikini. Use aloe vera to soothe your skin after hair removal.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!
It’s important for your skin to be silky smooth if you’re going to bare it, so exfoliating is a must. Rub a gentle body scrub on your skin, focusing on rough or dark areas like elbows and knees.

Get a tan.
One way to complete your beach-ready look is to get (or fake) a sun-kissed complexion. You can get tans in tanning salons or cheat by using self-tanning lotions.

Solenn’s bust-emphasizing bikini tip: Want to emphasize how your bust looks in a bikini? You can apply bronzer on your cleavage or simply choose a push up bikini top.

Protect yourself against wardrobe malfunctions.

According to Solenn, there are three things you should do to keep your swimsuit firmly in place:

  1. If you have an adjustable string bikini, it’s important to sew your straps in place so that your swimsuit doesn’t come loose under the water. You can also opt for a fixed bikini top.
  2. Invest in Hollywood tape and nipple tape. Hollywood tape keeps your bikini in place, and the nipple tape protects your nippies if a wardrobe accident happens.
  3. Always secure your bikini strings by tying them tight twice to make sure that they don’t come undone.

Solenn’s bikini washing tip: Salt water damages the elasticity of your swimwear so make sure to wash your swimsuit in fresh water right after swimming. After washing, dry your swimsuit by laying it out flat on a towel, so that it maintains its shape.

There you have it! Make sure to keep these tips in mind so that you can have peace of mind while having fun at the beach. Enjoy your summer!
