Distraught 18-year-old burns house down on FB live

An angry 18-year-old, believed to be intoxicated, burned down his own house in Taytay, Palawan and livestreamed the whole process on Facebook.

Based on Mark Salazar's "24 Oras" report, the teenager filmed himself shouting expletives moments before his house was engulfed in flames.

"Kahit hindi maganda ang pakiramdam ko, ginagawa ko para sa kanila. Mahal ko sila tapos ganu'n lang ang gagawin nila?" he said as shown in the video.

He even mocked the village watchman near him, adding that the local official tried to stop him from burning his house.

"O walang nangyari. Kita n'yo yang mga tanod sa likod ko? Pinigilan ako. Ang problema, hindi sila nagagalit. Mga duwag naman [Nothing happened. See that tanod? He tried to stop me. The problem is, he wasn't mad. Such cowards]," the teenage boy said while smoking a cigarette.

At one point, he dared social media users to fight him.

"Oh kayo? May matapang sa inyo? Comment n'yo sa akin, pupuntahan ko [Are you up for a fight? Just leave a comment, I will go there]," he said.

After a series of rants, the teenage boy went in the house to show his viewers the items de had destroyed inside, then gathered cartons and clothes together and lit a match. The blaze easily spread throughout the house, which was made of wood planks and other light materials.

Subsequently, the wails of young women could be heard as they gathered near the now-burning house.

But the teenage boy kept taking a video of himself to show his frustration.

"Gago ako. Patayin niyo ako, patayin niyo ako. Kung ano anong sinasabi niyo wala akong pakialam [Just kill me. Kill me. You keep saying these things, I don't care anymore]," he said at the sidelines of the blaze.

According to authorities' initial report, the teenage boy's outburst came after his 17-year-old live-in partner left him along with their child.

He was reportedly drunk and was being monitored by his relatives and village officials.

Fire Officer 3 Ericdon Fernandez of BFP Taytay said the teenager first set some clothes on fire but was stopped by his mother and village watchmen.

After the authorities left him alone, that was when the teenager started his livestreamed rant just before burning down the house.

"Hindi po siya mapasok kasi nagbabanta po siya. Nasa influence na po siya ng alkohol [He was threatening people who would try to enter his home. He is under the influence of alcohol]," Fernandez said.

The firefighter pointed out that the teenage boy also had other issues with his family.
