Agriculture damage in Caraga due to Auring reaches over P21M —NDRRMC


Tropical Storm Auring wrought at least P21,437,542 worth of damage to agriculture in the Caraga Region, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday.

In an update, NDRRMC said among the affected agricultural items were rice, corn, high value crops, fisheries, livestock and poultry.

Around P2,800,000 worth of damage in infrastructure was reported in the region including flood control and water facilities.

At least 12 roads and two bridges were affected in Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Davao, and Caraga Region.

NDRRMC said 226 houses were totally damaged and 453 were partially damaged in Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao, and Caraga Regions, NDRRMC said

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and local government units provided a total of P3,212,414 worth of assistance to affected residents in Davao and Caraga Regions, it added. — BM, GMA News
