Maasin City in Southern Leyte under MECQ until Nov. 3

The city of Maasin in Southern Leyte were once again put under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases there.

According to Darlene Cay's report on Unang Balita on Wednesday, the MECQ in Maasin City will last until November 3.

The city has over 100 active COVID-19 cases as of last count

Meanwhile, four areas in four barangays in the city were put under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the most restrictive of all quarantine classifications.

Trained contact tracers from the Department of the Interior and Local Government have been deployed to the areas to help locate those who had contacts with the patients. —KBK, GMA News
