P1.6M worth of kush and marijuana-infused products seized in Clark

Over P1.6 million worth of kush and various marijuana-infused products have been seized by the Bureau of Customs at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

In a statement Friday, the BOC said the eight shipments came from the United States, Canada, France, and Germany.

Two of the shipments were declared as gifts and baby blankets that were used to cover vacuum-sealed packs of suspected marijuana leaves.

The six other shipments, meanwhile, contained various marijuana-infused products in boxes such as CBD creams, inhalers made with Hemp Cannabidoil, CBD vape pen, CBD infused gummies, Juicy Jay Hemp Wraps, Bergland Tee Baum, Japanissches Minz-Heilol, disposable CBD cartridges and e-liquid pods.

The seized products were immediately handed over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III on August 5.

The shipments were subjected to K9 sniffing which indicated the presence of illegal drugs. Thereafter, PDEA chemical analysis was conducted and showed positive result for the presence of marijuana, affirming the suspicion of the customs examiners.

District Collector Ruby Alameda issued warrants of seizure and detention of the shipments for violation of Republic Act No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to R.A. No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.—AOL, GMA News
