Bontoc cops seize P16-M marijuana bricks, nab Army reservist, 3 others
Authorities of Bontoc town in Mountain province apprehended four suspects and rescued a minor at a checkpoint along a national road on Saturday for yielding a load of marijuana bricks with estimated value of over P16 million.
In a report to the Police Regional Office Cordillera, the Bontoc Municipal Police Station identified the suspects as Joseph Petilona, 35, an Army reservist, and a resident of Angeles City; Mark Kevin Guzman, 21, from Quezon City; Princess Guma, 18, from Anunas, Angeles City; and Niño Acio, 25, a resident of Tabon, Angeles City.
Along with the suspects in their black Chevrolet with conduction sticker AAF 5941 was a seven-year-old minor.
The police report indicates that the four suspects were intercepted at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
Seized from the suspects 109 suspected marijuana bricks and 36 suspected marijuana in tubular form, weighing approximately 134, 000 grams, with estimated street value of P16,080,000.00.
Cops also confiscated 1 Czech Republic 9mm pistol bearing SN R6942, with two magazines loaded with 20 live ammunition for 9mm with LO Nr. 605 issued by Maj. Brendo C. Maglasang, INF, PA Director of 3rd RDCDG, ARESCOM dated March 4, 2020 under the name of Joseph Petilona (Army Reservist); and 4 units cellular phones.
