Koronadal police chief in video of drinking, gambling inside station relieved
The chief of police of Koronadal City was relieved from his post after a video allegedly showing him and his men drinking liquor and gambling inside the police station circulated online.
Police Brigadier General Eliseo Rasco, regional director of Police Regional Office 12, ordered the relief of Police Lieutenant Colonel Benjiel Kirby Bajo as the investigation about the incident shown in the video starts.
The order was effective on April 4.
In line with this, Philippine National Police chief Police General Oscar Albayalde warned policemen to avoid going to nightclubs, beer gardens, karaoke bars and pubs.
He also reminded them to adhere to the rules and regulations stated in the PNP Ethical Doctrine and the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethical Standards.
Rasco also warned his men against doing "unethical activities" as it will only dishonor the whole police organization and will result in the public's loss of respect to police service.
"Surely, all PNP personnel who dares to violate the directives issued by the Chief PNP will be charged an administrative case of grave misconduct that is punishable ranging from dismissal, demotion and suspension from the service," Rasco said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/JST, GMA News
