3 NPA guerrillas killed, 1 arrested in N. Samar clash —police

Police killed three New People's Army insurgents and arrested another one in an armed clash before dawn on Thursday in Northern Samar.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo dela Cruz, Northern Samar provincial police director, told Super Radyo dzBB's Mike Enriquez in a phone-patch  interview that  the communist guerillas attacked the Victoria Municipal Police Station at about 3:44 a.m.

He said, the skirmish ended at about 6 a.m. with only two cops incurring minor injuries.

He said 50 insurgents tried to storm the police station but the cops repelled the attackers, killing three rebels and arrested another.

A followup operation is ongoing against the fleeing insurgents, Dela Cruz said. —with Peewee Bacuño/LBG, GMA News
