Still no power in Aurora town 3 days fore E-day
A town in Aurora province has been out of electricity for six days, making it difficult for the police and military to secure the vote-counting machines (VCMs) already delivered in polling precincts.
"Nahihirapan ang tropa dyan kasi madilim ang paligid. Ang mga [tropa] natin gamit flashlight, kung saan-saan pa natin pinapa-charge," said PO1 Santy Ramos, who is stationed in a far-flung rural precinct.
"Tapos 'yung perimeter natin ay nahihirapan kaming bantayan kasi open ito e, walang ilaw. 'Yun 'yung unang dahilan at nararanasan dito dahil walang kuryente tapos summer pa," he added.
According to the Aurora Electric Cooperative Incorporation (AURELCO), the almost one week of brownout in the eastern town of Dilasag is due to machine damage sustained by energy supplier National Power Corporation (Napocor).
The AURELCO management said they will try to provide electricity to Dilasag even just on Monday, election day. — Marisse Panaligan/APG, GMA News
