Fire hits Davao City residential barangay

Several houses were razed in a fire in Davao City, which began past 8 p.m. Friday and lasted several hours. Posts on the city government's Twitter account said the fire started in Barangay 23-C, along the Isla Verde Boulevard . The fire escalated in severity, until it was controlled at about 2 a.m. Saturday. A report on Bombo Radyo said "hundreds" of houses were affected in the fire that had spread to Barangay 22-C. Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte arrived at the scene to supervise the distribution of aid to those affected. Duterte also ordered power restored to the affected areas to prevent looting, the report added. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News.
