Amid floods, Bulacan placed under state of calamity

Bulacan province was placed under a state of calamity in the wake of the devastation caused by floods that resulted from days of heavy rain.

Governor Wilhelmino Alvarado cited the massive flooding brought by torrential rain, government-run Philippine Information Agency reported Wednesday.

"This declaration authorized the provincial government to spend its calamity fund for relief and rehabilitation efforts," the PIA said on its WeatherPH Facebook account.

Bulacan was one of the areas in Central Luzon devastated by the floods brought by days of heavy rain.

Many other areas in Central Luzon, including Bulacan and Pampanga, also suffered damage from the floods. Other provinces placed under a state of calamity are Bataan and Laguna.
