Philippines receives 3 million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine


The Philippines on Thursday received an additional three million doses of government-procured Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine.

The fresh batch of vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 past 6 p.m. Three million Sinovac doses also arrived in the country on Wednesday.

"With these new vaccines, our total number of vaccines delivered has now reached 121,112,370 doses," Dr. Ma. Paz Corrales, National Task Force Against COVID-19 medical consultant, said. 

“As of November 10, we have already administered one million jabs a day, and 36,338,077 have received their first dose while 39% are already fully vaccinated,” she added.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Wednesday that the government is seeking to administer five million doses daily during the national vaccination days from November 29 to December 1.

Earlier, the government said that it aimed to administer 1 to 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines daily, starting November 20, to speed up the vaccination program. — VBL, GMA News
