Palace: People can exercise within their barangays
Exercising is considered an essential activity in enhanced community quarantine areas as long as it is done within the barangay of the individual doing the exercise, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.
(I repeat, exercise is important. People are not prohibited from doing exercise. But they should not get out of their community or outside of their barangay).
Roque said that visiting other places to jog, like Luneta, is not allowed while Metro Manila and adjacent provinces Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are under ECQ—a protocol which bans non-essential activities and services to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
“A lot of people are in Luneta to jog. That is not allowed,” he said.
(If you want to jog, do it in your barangay. If you want to ride bike, do it in your barangay. Don’t go far because you will be called out for it).
