80-year-old widow allegedly raped by farmer in Palawan —police

An 80-year-old widow was allegedly raped in Aborlan, Palawan, the Police Regional Office - MIMAROPA said on Tuesday.

Police said the victim, who is from the Tagbanua tribe, was allegedly raped by a 42-year-old farmer. The incident was reported by the victim who was assisted by her daughter at the Aborlan Municipal Police Station last July 3.

Initial information disclosed by the police stated that the victim was on her way to get nipa palm when the suspect suddenly appeared, forcibly took her to a grassy area and supposedly raped her.

The suspect was already arrested and is now detained at the Aborlan MPS. Authorities are already preparing the cases against him.

Both the victim and the suspect were not named by the police. —LDF, GMA News
