Bongbong Marcos: I'm a COVID-19 survivor

Former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday announced he finally won his battle with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“COVID survivor na tayo,” Marcos said in his latest vlog on YouTube.

“I’m still one of the lucky ones because of the good work ng ating mga doctor, ng ating mga nurse, ng ating mga tech med, all of them, nandito pa rin ako kasi nasa high risk na ako eh,” he added.

The son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos said he was "feeling better" and was already starting to get back in shape.

Marcos thanked the medical frontliners who helped him recover from the respiratory illness.

He said he personally saw their dedication and sacrifice.

"Kaya alam niyo po talagang ako, tiyak na tiyak na sinalba ako ng ating mga doktor, ating mga health care workers kasi kung hindi sa kanila, palagay ko 'yong tumama sa akin eh baka mas naging grabe pa," Marcos said.

"Kung hindi sa kanila, naging totoo 'yong lumabas na balita na namatay na raw ako," he added. "We owe a lot to our frontliners... alam nila ang risk. Talagang hero silang lahat."

Marcos said he could have gotten the viral disease when he went to Spain to attend a wedding.

He said he cut short the trip when he learned that Metro Manila would be placed under community quarantine. -NB, GMA News
