Senate to invite cab driver allegedly robbed by Carl Angelo Arnaiz to next hearing

The taxi driver whom Carl Angelo Arnaiz allegedly robbed at gunpoint moments before he was shot to death by policemen in Caloocan City last month may be invited to a Senate hearing.

At Tuesday's Senate hearing on the killing of 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos, Senator Grace Poe said they "would just have to invite the cab driver next time."

Like Delos Santos, Arnaiz, 19, was shot dead by Caloocan policemen when he allegedly tried to resist arrest. The policemen said Delos Santos was involved in illegal drug activities.

PO2 Rodolfo Bautista, the chief investigator of Caloocan City Police Station, admitted during Tuesday's hearing that he failed to indicate the plate number and name of the taxi allegedly robbed by Arnaiz in the affidavit.

"May fault po talaga ako doon," Bautista said.

"Bale nagpatulong po kami kay PO1 [Jeffrey] Perez na ma-contact po 'yung taxi driver tapos pumunta naman po siya," he added.

"Yung lisensiya, plate number naka-note naman po 'yun, may tickler po ako na naka-indicate doon yung number address niya," Bautista said.

The taxi driver reportedly identified Arnaiz as the one who robbed him. —KBK, GMA News
