Pasay barangay officials refute OCTA data
Barangay officials in Pasay City on Friday contested the data released by the OCTA research group which said that they have recorded an increase in COVID-19 cases in the past week.
According to Ivan Mayrina’s report on “24 Oras,” the OCTA Research group said that 128 new cases were recorded in Barangay 76 in the past week, equivalent to 18 per day.
The barangay, however, said that it currently has only 12 active cases and has recorded four new cases in the past two weeks.
Data from the public information office of Pasay also showed that there are only around 154 confirmed cases in the barangay in the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Hindi po totoo. ‘Yan po is siguro po sabi-sabi lang o nagpa-panic lang po siguro ‘yung tao sa biglang pag-spread po ng kaso sa Pasay,” Rimel Ramiro, of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team, said.
Barangay 59 also belied the data from OCTA, which said that it has recorded 59 cases in the past week.
The barangay, however, has recorded only 28 cases since the pandemic.
“Sigurado po ako na hindi tama ‘yung datos na ‘yan. Most likely, typographical o kung ano man pong pagkakamali. Pero as of now po, as per our records and as per PIO, nasa six cases po kami, two ang newly recovered,” Barangay Captain Zengel La Torre said.
