Ex-Comelec chair Abalos, wife test positive for COVID-19

Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr. and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos on Friday.

Abalos told GMA News Online that the results of their tests were released Friday morning. She said the older Abalos and his wife, Cora, are already in the hospital for proper treatment.

The Abalos couple's daughter-in-law, Abalos said she would undergo quarantine since she had direct contact with them.

"Since may direct contact ako sa kanila, mag-self quarantine na ako and the whole family actually," she said in a text message. —KBK, GMA News
