According to GMA News' James Agustin, the SAF members were deployed to help maintain social distancing among marketgoers amid the implementation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Apart from strict implementation of social distancing, the body temperature of marketgoers is also being checked. Meanwhile, those who do not have quarantine pass are not allowed to enter the market.
The vulnerable members of society including senior citizens, pregnant women, and people with disabilities are not allowed to enter the market while designated marketgoers are required to wear face masks.
Police and local government officials have ordered stricter implementation of ECQ rules following widespread reports of violations. --KBK, GMA News
