San Juan's Wattah Wattah Festival pushes through with adjustments amid water shortage
San Juan City's annual Wattah Wattah Festival pushed through on Monday but with adjustments in light of the water shortage being experienced in many parts of Metro Manila, including in the city, according to Oscar Oida's report on Unang Balita.
Around 20 barangays in San Juan City have been experiencing water service interruptions as water level in Angat Dam, which supplies water to almost 90% of Metro Manila, continues to drop below critical level.
Instead of 50 firetrucks that are commonly deployed during the yearly tradition, the city government only deployed 16 for this year, symbolizing the festival's 16th year.
The 34 other firetrucks will be used for water distribution to areas affected by the water service interruption.
