Sara Duterte raises hands of rival mayoral bets in Pasay City

The daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte has raised the hands of rival mayoral candidates in Pasay City, prompting supporters of both Chet Cuneta and Emi Calixto-Rubiano to argue online as regards Sara Duterte's real choice.

In a post on Facebook on November 9, the incumbent congresswoman of Pasay City posted her pictures with the leader of the Davao regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago.

One of the pictures showed Sara raising her hand.

The raising of candidates' hands indicate the support and endorsement of influential personalities in the country's celebrity-driven politics.

A day later on November 10, megastar Sharon Cuneta posted on Instagram her pictures with brother Chet and Sara.

One of the posts showed Sara raising the hand of Chet and a note that read, "Si Chet Cuneta po ang tunay na mayor natin sa Pasay City." 

Sara signed the note.

Not to be outdone, Emi on Monday posted another picture on Facebook, not with Sara but with Duterte himself.

While HNP is a regional party, Sara has said that the group was going the rounds of provinces nationwide to gather support for the senatorial candidates it was supporting. —Llanesca T. Panti/NB, GMA News
