Masked men kill 2 drug suspects inside house in Caloocan
Two suspected drug pushers were shot in the head by masked men late Sunday inside a house in Barangay Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
Chief Inspector Ronald Cayago, commander of the Bagong Silang Police Community Precinct, identified the victims as Fernando Danilo Aquino and Edwin Malait.
Cayago said that based on investigations, Malait was just visiting Aquino in his house when masked men barged in and repeatedly shot the victims. The incident happened at around 11:30 p.m.
Aquino's neighbors said that after the shooting, the assailants casually walked out and escaped on a motorcycle.
Cayago said the killing could be drug-related. He said both victims are included in the police's watchlist.
Police recovered four sachets of shabu from Aquino's house.
Malait's sister, Cristina, told GMA News that her brother had stopped using drugs.
She said Malait did not heed the police's call to surrender, through Project Tokhang, because he does not regularly use drugs.
—report from Victoria Tulad/ALG, GMA News
